Our Services
The company intends to provide technical support and training to the farmers who want to be an entrepreneur. We have been conducting several rounds of free training for the interested farmers. We help in developing replicable fishery models appropriate to the geographical location. We provide assistance in the production of fish seeds, fish feed, and the final raw & processed fish products to help entrepreneur build there own brands.

What We Do
Feed Manufacturing
Mahabahu Fisheries started producing Sinking Pellet feed in 2018 and in 2020, we received a scheme under Pradhan Mantri Matyha Sampada Yojana ( PMMSY) under which production capacity was increased to 3 tons per day from the existing 1 ton per day. Presently, the feed plant has the capacity to produce 10 tons sinking feed every day. This feed is sold in the local market. We are in the process of producing floating feeds in the next year ( 2023).
Training & Capacity Building
Mahabahu Fisheries has a technical team which provides training and consultation including project preparation, cost benefit analysis etc for the new fish farming entrepreneurs. Time to time we conduct class ream training and also online training program. SO far we have trained 1500 fish farmers of NE. We send our technical Support Group members to visit the farm to give ideas and also conduct water testing activity of the farmers.
Fish Farming & Rearing
We have a strong network of committed farmers on hand coupled with 28 hectares of own farms, expanding to another 10 hectares every year. Under the joint venture of Mahabahu Fisheries & Gohpur Fish FPC, we have identified 600 fish farmers of the region who have been closely associated with us for large scale production. The company supplies the associated farmers with seed, feed and financial support who in turn supply fresh raw materials. We are well experienced in composite fish farming, intensive and semi intensive fish farming.
Seed Production
The company’s fish seed bank has been established in collaboration with the Gohpur Fish Farmer Producer company Ltd. The hatchery has a capacity to supply 100 million seeds ensures good bio security and are efficient and cost effective. The quality produce of our seed at our hatchery for captive consumption in aqua culture is meeting the necessary seed assistance to the aqua farmers associated with the company and other independent from the surroundings. The nursery is covering 15 acres water area and we culture genetically improve fish seeds like Amur Common carp, Jayanti Rohu, Improve Catla etc. The origin brood stock is from the National Fresh water Fish Brood bank located at Bhubaneshwar (under the National Fishery Development Board, Govt of India)
