About Mahabahu Fisheries
Incorporated on 24th Oct 2016, by Mr. Anup Sarmah who was awarded as the Best Fish Farmer under NE & other Hilly State Category by the National Fishery Development Board, Govt of India in 2021. At present Mr. Anjan Kr Sarmah is the Director along with Anup Sarmah.
It is one of the largest & fastest growing fish production companies in North East India. With unmatched expertise in semi-intensive & composite fish farming adopting low-cost innovative models, feed manufacturing plants, and Fish Seed Nurseries, the company has forged a formidable niche in the fish market of the region.
In 2021, Mahabahu Fisheries has formed Gohpur Fish Farmer Producer Company limited with the support from ARIAS Society, under the World bank Supported Project APART to mobile 400 fish farmers for large scale fish production.
Mahabahu Fisheries Pvt ltd has also been an Entrepreneur selected for incubation by the Assam Agri-Business Growth lab (during 2021-2022) under the support of CIIE.CO & APART during 2021-2022 towards the acceleration of its business venture.

Our Uniqueness
Fish Farming & Rearing
The firm has the expertise in Semi-intensive fish farming. We provide genetically improved fish seed, high quality local & branded feed, vitamins & supplements and technical support to the connected farmers.
Feed Manufacturing
The company produces high quality sinking feed of 10 tons per day. We also supply branded floating feeds of reputed producers like Abis & Godrej.
Seed Production
The high-yielding fish seed produced at our nursery & hatchery for captive consumption in aquaculture is providing essential seed support to the company's aqua farmers as well as others from the surrounding area.
Consultation
The company provides technical support, training & consultation to fish farmers. While visiting the fish farmers, our crew carefully checks the water quality of the pond in the field.

A great work undertaken by Mr Anup Sarmah & his team in establishing a fishery pond measuring 15 hectares in a geographically challenging place. They have nicely maintained the fish nursery and brooder stock for the hatchery. Their innovative management system including feed manufacturing impressed me a lot. Hope our younger generation learn from their initiative.
Excellent and praiseworthy work undertaken by Mr Anup. He has integrated fish farming with Feed and seed production which can really help to sustain his endeavour.
